Patient hospitalized. Although being 60 years old, her character appears young in the imagination of her friends: beautiful, intelligent and fragile, as all myth shall be. The character is build through conversations with friends and in the waiting room. Important militant, she was arrested and tortured during the dictatorship and never managed to rebuild her life. Remembered by all as an ironic person, rebel and funny, is the only link between the completely different people that meet again at the hospital.

Played by Simone Spoladore, one of the most respected young actresses of the Brazilian cinema.


Irene, interpretada por Irene RavacheIRENE
Film maker, about 60 years old, Ana’s great friend, has a homosexual son, Eduardo. On her youth was part of the armed resistance against the dictatorship, when she was arrested and tortured. She is the link of the film, is the one behind the history. Her films always talk about political issues and she is considered by her friends as a great success. She is working on a new film, in which Ana and the 1960s are the subject. She has a relation of deep admiration with Ana, but sometimes also of dispute.

Played by Irene Ravache, who resumes, about 20 years later, the character she lived in “Que bom te ver viva”, also directed by Lucia Murat.


Paolo, interpretada por Franco NeroPAOLO
Italian exiled in Brazil, about 60 years old. Accused of terrorism in his country, where in the 1970s he was part of the armed conflict in a Left organization. Ironically, is treated by the media as a member of the brigata rossa, most popular group, with which he has divergences. He had an involvement with Ana and Irene in the past. He has a Brazilian daughter. He is in Brazil for 15 years.

Played by the Italian actor Franco Nero, who after becoming know by the western Django, worked with great film makers like Fassbinder (Querelle) and Bunuel ( Tristana).


Zeze, interpretada por Clarisse AbunjamraZEZÉ
Friend of Ana and Irene, with whom she fought against the dictatorship in the 1960s, is an art curator and married to Henrique since the 1960s. She talks a lot, has explanations to everything and iconoclast positions. She is an intellectual who enjoys a debate.

Played by Clarisse Abunjamra, theater and television actress, with various participations in cinema.


Henrique, interpretada por Hamilton Vaz PereiraHENRIQUE
Plastic artist, liberal, but concerned in working the utopia, trying to keep the link between the 1960s and today through his work. He is one of the biggest supporters of Eduardo. Married to Zezé with whom he has a strong relation of complicity despite the intellectual divergences.

Played by the director and theater actor Hamilton Vaz Pereira.

Ricardo, interpretada por Otávio AugustoRICARDO
Also an ex-militant, today he is a professor, and is Gabriel’s father, Eduardo’s boyfriend. He is one of the few that did not “update” himself with the years and conserves a Manichaean view of the reality. He has an idealized view of the past. A character not very flexible in his relationships, but he has a great affection for all his ex-comrades.

Played by Otávio Augusto, one of the most important Brazilian actors of his generation, with several works in the cinema and television.


José Carlos, interpretado por José Carlos MachadoJOSÉ CARLOS
Another ex-militant, who today is Minister of Justice. Despite being deeply connected to Ana and her friends, has a stressful daily routine in the power and is more concerned with the pressures of the palace than in rescuing the history of his generation. He is one of the most distance characters of the group today and also very criticized.

Played by José Carlos Machado, theater actor with several participations in the Brazilian cinema of the “retomada”[return of national film production].

 

Eduardo, interpretada por Miguel ThiréEDUARDO
Irene’s son, 26 years old. He knew since he was young that his sexual orientation was different from the one of his friends and he has no doubt of what he wants. He is in a romantic relationship for almost 2 years with Gabriel. He has a contradictory relationship with his mother and a deep admiration for Ana, who always allowed him everything.

Played by Miguel Thiré, third generation of a family of great Brazilian actors and directors, grandson of Tônia Carrero. He works since he was a boy in the theater, here he has his first important role in the cinema.

He works in the gym and is specialized in contemporary art, Ricardo’s son, 25 years old. He is Eduardo’s boyfriend and has a bad relation with his father, of whom he has certain shame because of the conservative behavior.

Played by Patrick Sampaio, young theater actor, in his first role in the cinema.


Chloé, interpretada por Naruna Kaplan de MacedoCHLOÉ
Ana’s niece, daughter of her sister who stayed in Paris and married a French man. Bilingual, she feels divided between two nationalities. Student of Science-Po in Paris, comes to Rio when she knows that her aunt is very sick. She was for Ana like the daughter she never had. Her arrival and radical ideas agitate the young generation.

Played by Naruna Kaplan de Macedo, who, like the character, is also bilingual and has dual citizenship. She was raised in France and has a Brazilian father. She works in the cinema as director.
