Actor from the theater workshop “Nós do Morro”, with several films to his name, among them “Cidade de Deus”(City of God) and “Redentor”, Babu Santana interprets the character Pingão, an ordinary convict at the Ilha Grande Penitentiary who doesn’t accept the rules established by the political prisoners,thus precipitating a confict.

Talk about your character:

The character that I play in the film is that of Pingao, who represents the regular convicts at Ilha Grande Penitentiary. He is an old-fashioned, in-your-face, convict. He doesn’t have big issues, nor social pretensions, but he does have his own code of survival.

Talk about your experience working on “Almost Brothers”

Everything about the project was really cool , especially the people involved in it.

The building of my character together with Flavio (Bauraqui) was an incredible experience. Working with Lúcia was very positive, I loved meeting her , participating in her project, and being able to reencounter and work together with Caco (Ciocler) again. It was good to run into old workmates and have the opportunity to work with new ones. I guess that all that interaction greatly improved the filming and I believe that Lúcia was very happy to make this film that treats violence in such a poetic way.
